Ask Merlin: search answers faster with an AI agent
As lead frontend engineer for Tray’s first public* AI feature, I developed the UI/UX for a new AI search engine interface and implemented customer interaction with the Merlin AI agent - so users can ask questions about the Tray app and get AI generated answers directly inside Tray’s documentation website.
These answers are retrieved from a RAG pipeline powering the Merlin AI agent built with a Tray workflow, which connects various services to handle user input, generate embeddings, retrieve relevant documents and return the final answer. The existing search component was overhauled so the AI search interface can be accessed alongside the traditional search engine as the user clicks the search bar.
The feature solved a high-impact problem for all existing and future customers of Tray.ai, who could now access detailed answers faster than browsing through the entire documentation platform on their own.

Tray.ai launch: announcing a new company name & ethos
As part of announcing the company name change from Tray.io to Tray.ai, I was in charge of planning, development and deployment of customer-facing initiatives to over one million monthly visitors accessing Tray's new website and documentation platforms.
Focused on implementing design changes reflecting the company pivot to AI, the homepage was completely refreshed with a new hero, animations and page sections. New product pages were also created to highlight the AI capabilities of the Tray platform.
With help from a systems engineer in the infrastructure team, all URL changes featuring the new domain name were successfully deployed with no broken URLs on launch.

Led the overhaul of the information architecture for Tray's documentation platform, which involved planning, designing and implementing a new content structure to shift to the Tray's new 'one-product' strategy.
Supported the documentation team's content migration plan by re-building navigation hierarchies, as well as new page routes for technical writers to add updated content for new categories.
A new release notes feature was added, enabling product managers to ship new documentation and product updates without pinging engineers. Oversaw development of new homepage.
